The Heart of the Women's Fellowship

by Kimberly Chikeles

Psalm 40:8 says, "I desire to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart." The desire and call God has put in my heart is His and I thank and give Him praise for that. I know that I can do His will with confidence, because I know I was sent by Him. And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!", Romans 10:15. I feel privileged to be called! But I also feel unworthy, because I know that I was not called because of my greatness or any great thing I can do for anyone. In fact, it is just the opposite, because there is no great thing in me except Him. But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." "Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich." 2 Corinthians 8:9.

God has given me a heart for the women. To love, minister, and pray for them. And in my prayers, "I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength." Ephesians 1:17-19.

"The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it." I Corinthians 12:12, 26. We are sisters and part of the body of Christ, needing and caring for each other, using the gifts God has given us "for God's gifts and His call are irrevocable." Romans 11:29, and "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves." Romans 12:9-10.

Therefore, the theme and vision of the Women's Fellowship is for us to draw near to God, to know Him, and to grow in Him. To become in His likeness, through the Word, fellowship, and prayer. :"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:22-25, remembering also that, "all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.. -Proverbs 31:30
